Works with your AI
Run Ship Your Pod from your AI assistant
Connect Claude or another AI assistant to your account, then just ask. It can send your episodes, read your Shorts and their scores, and ask us for changes. It only ever sees your own account. Included on every plan.
What you can ask
- Here's this week's episode: <link>. Send it to Ship Your Pod.
- Which three Shorts from my last episode scored highest, and why?
- The hook on the second Short is too long. Ask them to redo it.
- How many episodes do I have left this month?
- From now on, cut my Shorts a bit longer.
It cannot change your plan or pay for anything: plan changes are always yours to approve in the app, where you see the exact price first. Cancelling needs you to clearly ask for it, and it shows you the options first.
Connect it in three steps
- Get your key. Sign in at shipyourpod.com/app → Settings → Connect your AI → Get my API key. It is shown once, so copy it then. You can have up to 3, and remove any of them at any time.
- Download the connector: mcp_shipyourpod.py. It is one small file that needs Python 3.9 or newer and nothing else.
- Add it to your AI app. In Claude Desktop: Settings → Developer → Edit Config. In Claude Code: a
.mcp.jsonin your project. Paste this, with your own file path and key, then restart:
{
"mcpServers": {
"shipyourpod": {
"command": "python",
"args": ["C:/path/to/mcp_shipyourpod.py"],
"env": { "SHIPYOURPOD_API_KEY": "syp_live_your_key_here" }
}
}
}
It works with any AI app that can run a local MCP server. On a Mac the path looks like /Users/you/mcp_shipyourpod.py.
For developers
Everything the connector does is a plain HTTPS API at api.shipyourpod.com with your key as a bearer token: read your plan, episodes and clips, send an episode, ask for a re-cut, change settings, redo a thumbnail. The full reference, with every endpoint and its limits: api.md.
Is it safe?
Your key only ever reaches your own account: nothing in a request names an account, so asking for someone else's episode comes back "not found". We store only a fingerprint of your key, never the key itself. Each key has rate limits, so a runaway script cannot flood your queue, and your plan's monthly episodes are still the ceiling. Remove a key in the app and it stops working straight away.
