The plain-English terms

Last updated 2026-11-03 (clipping plans and separate episode add-ons). If anything here is unclear, email [email protected] and a person will answer.

What you're buying

A monthly subscription. Each month you get the number of episodes in your plan turned into Shorts and teasers, with quotes and per-Short titles and post text. Episode thumbnails, YouTube long-form with episode title, description and chapters, and an article and newsletter are separate one-time add-ons. Plans, limits and prices are on the home page. Month to month. Cancel any time yourself from the Billing tab of your account.

Loyalty pricing

Month 1 is the listed price. Each month you stay subscribed the price drops in equal steps, until month 7, where it stays at 15% off on every plan. If you cancel and later subscribe again, you start again at month 1's price. Pausing your plan does not reset it. The exact amounts are shown on the Billing tab of your account before every charge.

Cancelling and refunds

Month to month. You cancel it yourself in your account (shipyourpod.com/app, Billing tab). It takes effect at the end of the month you have already paid for, the exact date is shown on screen, and you can undo it any time before then. If you would rather a person did it, reply to any of our emails and one of us does it the same day. Payments already made are not refunded. If a delivery is wrong, reply and we fix it.

Your content is yours

You own your episodes and everything we make from them. We keep a copy only to do the work and to let you re-download it. We don't use your content to promote ourselves without asking, and nothing is posted anywhere unless you post or schedule it yourself (a tap in the app, or a request from your own API key or connected assistant): we deliver the clips and you post them.

What we need from you

A link to your public YouTube channel, or a file link per episode. You confirm you have the rights to the recordings you give us. If an episode contains something we can't safely cut (for example anything sexual involving minors, or accusations against a private person), we hold it and tell you why.

If you connect a YouTube channel to post from the app, you also agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. How we handle connected channels is in the privacy policy.

Privacy

What we keep to run the service. Your name, email, plan, channel link, and the work we produce for you. Payments are handled by Stripe; we never see your card number. Emails go through Google Workspace. Pages are hosted on Cloudflare; videos are stored on Cloudflare Stream. Requests you make from your page (Change this) are stored in a database so we can act on them. If you answer the three short questions in your account (how you heard about us, what your show is about, roughly how big your audience is), we keep those answers to understand who we serve.

What we count. Our pages count simple events (a page opened, a clip played, a download, a checkout button clicked) with the link's source tag, kept 180 days. These counts use no cookies and store no IP address. To count how many people are on the site at once, each open tab gets a random number (and whether it is a phone or a computer); the number is deleted when the tab closes, is never linked to you, and is not used for ads.

Advertising. Our marketing pages (the homepage, the free clip finder and the podcast-type pages) load advertising cookies from Meta (Facebook and Instagram), TikTok and Google, which measure our ads and help show them to people like you. When you ask for the free clip finder or buy a plan, we tell those platforms it happened, with your email address hashed (so it is not readable) and the ad click that brought you. Under California law this can count as "sharing" personal information for advertising, and you can opt out: use "Your privacy choices" at the bottom of any of our pages, or turn on Global Privacy Control in your browser, and none of it happens. Visitors in Europe and the UK are asked first, and nothing loads unless they accept. The account app and your delivery pages never carry advertising cookies.

Customer lists. We may give Meta, TikTok and Google a hashed (unreadable) list of our customers' and free-tool users' email addresses, so our ads skip people who already use us and reach people like them. We never do this with people we have only emailed cold. Under California law this can count as "sharing" personal information for advertising.

Product updates. If you tick the box on our Stripe checkout page that asks to receive updates, we keep your email address even if you leave without paying, and we may email you now and then about Ship Your Pod and new products. Reply "stop" or "unsubscribe" to any of those emails and we stop. If you do not tick it, Stripe does not give us your email unless you finish checking out.

Your choices. Opt out of advertising cookies (or change your choice) any time with "Your privacy choices" at the bottom of our pages. To be left out of every advertising list (Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information), reply "no ads" to any of our emails or write to [email protected]; it takes effect for the next list we send. We don't sell your data for money. Email [email protected] to see or delete what we hold on you.

Accessibility

We want everyone to be able to use Ship Your Pod. The site and the account pages are built to WCAG 2.1 AA: keyboard operable, labelled controls, visible focus, captions and a transcript on the demo video, colour contrast above 4.5:1, and no motion that can't be turned off. If anything gets in your way, email [email protected] with the page and what happened, and a person fixes it or gets you what you need another way within two business days.

The boring but necessary

Ship Your Pod is a trade name of Messy Stories LLC, an Ohio, USA limited liability company, 311 Elm St Ste 270-1386, Cincinnati, OH 45202, United States, which operates the service and is the seller. We do our best but can't promise views, revenue or growth. Our liability is limited to what you paid us in the last month. These terms can change; we'll email you if they do in any way that matters.
