Privacy policy
Last updated 2026-09-22. Questions or complaints about anything here: email [email protected] and a person answers. Ship Your Pod is operated by an Ohio, USA limited liability company.
What we collect, and why
- Your account. Name, email address, plan, and the channel links you give us. We need these to know who you are, what you bought and where the work goes.
- Your episodes and what we make from them. The file or link you send, and the clips, teasers, thumbnails, titles, descriptions and chapters we produce. We keep a copy so we can do the work and so you can re-download it.
- Requests you make from your delivery page. "Post now" and "Change this" are stored in a database so we can act on them.
- Billing. Stripe handles payment. We see the plan, the amount and whether it succeeded. We never see your card number.
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for advertising. We do not use your content to promote ourselves without asking you first.
YouTube API Services
Ship Your Pod uses YouTube API Services. If you connect a YouTube channel so we can post for you, this section is the one that matters.
By using our service you are also agreeing to the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google's own handling of any data it receives is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
What we access. Only what is needed to publish to a channel you connected yourself:
- your channel's identity (channel name, ID and avatar), so we can show you which channel is connected and post to the right one;
- permission to upload videos to that channel, used only to publish clips cut from episodes you sent us;
- the OAuth tokens Google issues when you connect, so we can act on that permission later.
What we store. The channel identity above and the OAuth tokens, held in our self-hosted posting service. What we do not do: we do not read your comments, your subscribers, your analytics, your private videos or anything else on your account; we do not post anything unless your plan includes posting and you connected the channel; and we never share YouTube data with anyone else or use it to train models.
How to take it back, at any time. There are two independent routes, and you do not need our cooperation for the second:
- Disconnect the channel in your Ship Your Pod account, or email [email protected] and we delete the connection and its tokens.
- Revoke our access directly at Google's security settings page: https://security.google.com/settings/security/permissions. This works whatever we do, and it takes effect immediately.
When access is revoked by either route we stop posting and delete the stored tokens. Clips already published to your channel stay yours and stay where they are — only you can remove those, from YouTube.
Who else touches your data
We keep this list short on purpose. Each one does a specific job:
- Stripe — payments and subscriptions.
- Google Workspace — the email we send you.
- Cloudflare — hosting the site, your delivery pages and your finished videos.
- Anthropic — the model that scores and packages clips. Episode audio and transcripts are sent for that purpose and are not used to train models.
How long we keep it
Your account details and the work we produced for you last as long as your subscription, so you can come back and re-download. If you cancel, we keep them for 90 days in case you return, then delete them. Billing records are kept for seven years because tax law requires it. OAuth tokens are deleted as soon as a channel is disconnected or access is revoked.
Seeing it or deleting it
Email [email protected] and ask. We will show you everything we hold on you, or delete it, within 30 days — and normally within two business days, because a person reads that inbox. You do not have to give a reason. Deleting your data ends the service, since we cannot do the work without the episodes.
Children
Ship Your Pod is a business tool and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13, and if we learn we have, we delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we email you before it takes effect. The date at the top always reflects the current version.
