What's the difference between a podcast clipping service and a clipping tool?
A clipping tool is software you run yourself: you upload the episode, review what it suggests, fix the cuts and captions, and export. A clipping service does that work for you and hands back finished Shorts. Ship Your Pod is a service: you send the episode and get 8 to 15 Shorts finished, captioned Shorts back within a day.
Is a done-for-you service better than an AI clipping tool?
It depends on your time. If you enjoy editing and want full control of every cut, a tool is cheaper per month. If editing is the part that keeps you from posting, a service is built for you: the picks, captions, thumbnails and titles arrive ready, and you can ask for any clip to be redone.
Is it cheaper than hiring an editor?
Pro is $129 a month for 12 episodes, 15 Shorts each, plus the Facebook cuts, the newsletter and the article. Starter is $49 a month for 4 episodes. The price goes down every month you stay. Month to month, cancel any time. That works out to $0.72 a Short on Pro. A freelance editor is usually priced per project or per hour, and you manage the briefs and revisions yourself.
