The episode aired Saturday. Your take is still inside a two hour file.

Seasonal anime runs on a weekly rhythm, and the conversation about each episode peaks within a day of the simulcast. Your show has the context: the manga comparison, the studio history, the arc that is coming. A clip is how someone who just watched the episode finds out you have been explaining it all season.

What gets in the way

Send the episode; the clips come back cut, captioned and ranked. That is the whole job on your side.

The moments that travel

The adaptation comparisonPointing out what the studio changed from the manga, and whether it worked, is the argument fans come for.
The power scaling debateWho beats who gets people quoting chapter numbers at you, and that keeps the clip moving.
The sakuga appreciationExplaining why one cut of animation is special shows viewers something they felt but could not name.
The seasonal tier listRanking the current season against each other is a clip every watcher has an opinion on.
The sub versus dub takeA firm opinion on a voice performance, in either language, starts a comment thread that never ends.

What we leave out

Manga spoilers are the fastest way to lose anime-only viewers, so clips about upcoming arcs need to stay general or be labelled clearly on screen. Keep clips from pulling long stretches of the episode itself, since licensors are quick to act on that, and remember that fan reactions to voice actors can turn harsh, so keep criticism about the performance and not the person. Every clip comes with a safety check and its reasons, and nothing goes out until you post it.

Questions

My co-host has read the manga and I haven't. Can clips keep that separation?

Yes, as long as the reader is careful on camera, since whatever is said can end up clipped. Hints and foreshadowing work; naming what happens does not.

Can the clips show screenshots from the episode?

Stills with your commentary over them are lower risk than clips of the animation itself. Your camera and on-screen text can carry most moments without them.

I cover older anime, not seasonals. Does that work in short form?

It does, because older shows get rediscovered constantly. A strong opinion about a classic finds people in a way a plot summary never will.
