Military And Veterans podcasts

The people who need this episode won't go looking for a podcast.

Most of your audience finds you because someone sent them a clip: a buddy, a spouse, a unit group chat. A short of a guest saying the thing nobody said out loud at the time does more than any episode description you'll write. And the listeners who never served need a way in that doesn't require knowing the acronyms first.

What gets in the way

Send the episode; the clips come back cut, captioned and ranked. That is the whole job on your side.

The moments that travel

The first day inEveryone who served has a version of it, and hearing someone else's makes them want to tell their own.
The thing they still carryA guest naming one specific thing, not the whole experience, is what gets forwarded to someone who carries the same one.
The joke from the barracksHumor that only makes sense to people who were there is the fastest way to tell them this show is theirs.
Coming home and nothing fitThe transition story reaches family members and employers who never understood what they were looking at.
Advice to a younger selfWhat a guest would tell someone enlisting now gets shared by parents, recruits and the guest's own old unit.

What we leave out

Don't clip a guest's account of loss, injury or a specific operation without the part where they frame it; on its own it reads as spectacle, and names, units and dates stay out of captions unless the guest said them for the record. Nothing that touches an open claim, a pending case or operational detail becomes a standalone short, and if a guest asked for something to stay off the record, it stays off. Every clip comes with a safety check and its reasons, and nothing goes out until you post it.

Questions

Some guests get emotional on air. How do you handle those parts?

Those are often the moments people share, and they are cut with the setup and recovery around them, not just the break. Every clip sits on your page before anything is posted, so drop any a guest would not want shared or ask for a different cut with "Change this".

My audience is half veterans and half family members. Who are the clips for?

Both. Clips come ranked with a plain reason each, so you can see which ones land for someone who knows the acronyms and which give family members a way in, and post the mix that fits that guest.

Can the captions handle the jargon, ranks and unit names?

Yes. You give us the spellings and terms once, and they stay consistent across every episode's captions, titles and thumbnails from then on.
