Video Games podcasts

A hundred hours in the game. Your take still hasn't left the episode.

Games talk happens in bursts: a showcase, a surprise patch, a launch that falls over on day one. If your episode is the only place your opinion lives, it reaches the people who already subscribe and nobody standing in the comments of the trailer. Clips put your hot take, your rant and your genuine excitement where players are actually looking that week.

What gets in the way

Send the episode; the clips come back cut, captioned and ranked. That is the whole job on your side.

The moments that travel

The monetisation rantNothing unites a comment section like someone saying out loud what the battle pass is actually doing.
The first impressions hourYour reaction after one evening with a new release is the clip people search for on launch weekend.
The genre hill you die onDefending turn-based combat or hating open worlds gets players who disagree to stick around and argue.
The co-op storyA retelling of the run where everything went wrong is funnier in a short than in the full session.
The showcase reactionYour face when a sequel gets announced is worth more than your written summary of the trailer.

What we leave out

Story-driven games have endings people guard as fiercely as any film, so keep late-game plot talk out of clips for the first few weeks after release. Be careful with leaked or datamined content, since discussing it on a short brings attention you may not want, and check that any gameplay you show is from a game whose publisher allows it to be shared. Every clip comes with a safety check and its reasons, and nothing goes out until you post it.

What you get

8 to 15 Shorts, plus teasers, thumbnails from real frames, and a title and description, on a private page on your phone, within a day. Each Short is scored, with a plain reason why it should work. You post them wherever you like, full quality, no watermark.

Questions

Can the clips use my gameplay footage alongside my camera?

Only one video file goes in per episode and framing follows whoever is talking, so there is no way to add a separate capture. If you want your face and the game together, record them together into the episode itself, then check each clip on your private page and use Change this if a cut needs adjusting.

I review games weeks after launch. Does clipping still help?

Late takes travel when they are opinions, not news. Clips about whether the game held up, or what the patches changed, do not depend on launch week.

My show covers a lot of retro games. Is there an audience for clips?

Retro talk is evergreen, and a clip about a game from fifteen years ago finds people searching for it whenever they get nostalgic. It just needs a hook beyond the title.
