Motherhood podcasts

You got the episode done with a baby on your hip. Now the clips.

Mothers find shows through other mothers, usually a clip dropped into a text thread at an odd hour. A short cut of you saying the thing about the fourth trimester, or the loneliness, or the rage nobody admits, lands harder than any trailer. Your episodes are the long conversation; the clips are the invitation.

What gets in the way

Send the episode; the clips come back cut, captioned and ranked. That is the whole job on your side.

The moments that travel

The thing nobody told youA guest describes a part of early motherhood that gets left out of the books.
The identity questionYou or a guest talk about who you are now that you are also a mother.
The body, honestlyPostpartum, feeding, sleep and recovery spoken about without euphemism.
The small winA tiny routine that made one week easier, told plainly.
The village, missingA conversation about support that did not show up, and what to do instead.

What we leave out

Do not clip birth stories, feeding struggles or postpartum mental health in a way that could read as medical advice, and leave out any detail about a child that the guest only shared because she thought it was off record. Trim the joke about your partner only if the whole exchange fits, because half of it can land as contempt rather than comedy. Every clip comes with a safety check and its reasons, and nothing goes out until you post it.

Questions

A lot of my episodes are raw and emotional. Will the clips feel exploitative?

The cut keeps the moment with its lead-up and its landing, not just the tears, and you choose which ones go out.

Can you pull clips that speak to a specific stage, like newborn, toddler or school age?

Clips come from what you actually say, so name the stage out loud on the episode and it carries into the captions and titles. You see every clip on your private page first, so you can pick the ones that speak to newborn, toddler or school-age mothers and post them where they fit.

I record audio-first with a simple webcam. Is that enough?

As long as there is a usable video of you talking, the clips can be cut, captioned and framed around it.
