Science podcasts

You just explained a hard idea well. Nobody outside your feed heard it.

Science episodes are built on long explanations, but the moments people share are the thirty seconds where a confusing idea suddenly clicks. If those seconds stay buried at minute forty-two, your show only reaches listeners who already trust you enough to sit through the whole thing. Clips let a stranger meet your explaining style before they commit to an hour.

What gets in the way

Send the episode; the clips come back cut, captioned and ranked. That is the whole job on your side.

The moments that travel

The misconception gets correctedViewers love hearing that something they were taught in school is not quite right, and it invites them to stay for the fix.
The scale comparisonWhen a guest turns an unimaginable number into something the size of a kitchen or a city block, the clip stands on its own.
The researcher admits uncertaintyA scientist saying "we genuinely do not know yet" is rare in short video and signals the kind of honesty people follow.
The everyday question answeredWhy the sky is blue, why ice floats, why your knees click: familiar questions pull in people who never search for science.
The method, not the resultA quick account of how a measurement was actually taken gives curious viewers something they cannot get from a headline.

Hooks in your show's voice

What we leave out

Avoid clipping a preliminary finding or a single study as if it were settled, and leave the guest's caveats attached to any claim that depends on them. If a segment touches on health, climate risk or anything a viewer might act on, the clip needs the full context the host gave, not just the punchy line. Every clip comes with a safety check and its reasons, and nothing goes out until you post it.

Questions

My episodes are dense and the good parts need setup. Can a clip really stand alone?

Yes, as long as the moment is chosen for a self-contained question and answer. A clip that needs the previous ten minutes to make sense is the wrong clip, and you will not get those.

Will scientific terms and names be captioned correctly?

Add guest names, species, compounds and units to Settings > Spelling and they are spelled your way in captions, hooks and titles from the next episode. If one slips through, Change this on the clip fixes the word.

My guests are academics. Do the thumbnails have to look like clickbait?

No. Thumbnails come from real frames of your episode, so a clear frame of your guest with a plain, honest question in the title works, and if a thumbnail reads too loud you can ask for a different frame or line with "Change this".
