Golf podcasts

You have a hundred hours of golf talk on camera and nothing on your feed.

Golfers watch short clips the way they used to read the magazine on the plane: on the range, in the cart, waiting on the group ahead. A short argument about whether a popular driver is actually longer, or a caddie explaining what a player said on the walk to the eighteenth tee, gets forwarded around a foursome before the round is over. Your episodes already contain those exchanges. The work is finding them and framing them for a phone.

What gets in the way

Send the episode; the clips come back cut, captioned and ranked. That is the whole job on your side.

The moments that travel

The caddie or insider storyA first hand account of what happened inside the ropes is the thing golf fans cannot get from a broadcast.
The unpopular equipment takeSomeone saying a famous club is overrated gets reposted by everyone who agrees and everyone who is offended.
The swing fix in plain wordsA single clear thought about grip, setup or tempo is exactly what a golfer wants to watch before a round.
The slow play rantPace of play is the shared grievance of the whole sport and a good rant about it travels across every handicap.
The mental game admissionA good player describing the hole they still think about at night is more relatable than any highlight.

What we leave out

Golf is tangled up with equipment contracts and betting, so avoid clipping a guest's gear opinion in a way that pits them against a brand that pays them, and leave out casual talk about wagers unless you want that to be the whole conversation under the clip. Rules disputes and player conduct stories should keep their context, because a clip that sounds like an accusation of cheating is a problem even when the full episode made clear it was a joke. Every clip comes with a safety check and its reasons, and nothing goes out until you post it.

Questions

My show is recorded in a simulator bay with wide framing. Will that crop to vertical?

Yes. Wide studio shots are reframed around whoever is speaking, and the swing footage is kept in frame when a clip is about a swing.

We do a weekly Tour recap. Does that date too quickly to be worth clipping?

Recaps are the most time sensitive, which is why the clips are cut and returned fast enough to post while the tournament is still being discussed.

Can clips include the slow motion swing video I show on screen during the episode?

If the slow motion swing is part of your recording, it can appear in the clip. Separate files cannot be sent in, so play the cleanest version you have full screen during the episode.
