Food And Cooking podcasts

An hour on one dish. Somebody only wants the thirty seconds.

Food is one of the few subjects where people will watch someone talk with their hands for a minute and then go try it. Your episodes are full of the why: why the sear failed, why that restaurant closed, why your grandmother salted it twice. Clips take the one explanation a cook needs tonight and put it in front of them while they are standing at the stove with a phone propped on the counter.

What gets in the way

Send the episode; the clips come back cut, captioned and ranked. That is the whole job on your side.

The moments that travel

The one rule that fixes itA single correction, dry the surface, salt earlier, lower the heat, is the clip a home cook saves for later.
The ingredient hot takeSaying a beloved ingredient is overused, or a cheap one is underrated, starts the argument that keeps a clip moving.
The restaurant war storyA chef describing a service that went wrong is a story with a shape, and it needs no visuals beyond their face.
The taste test reactionYour honest face on first bite is the clearest thing on camera and needs no setup.
The myth you keep hearingTaking apart something every cookbook repeats gives a viewer a reason to question what they thought they knew.

What we leave out

Do not cut a technique clip so short that a safety step vanishes, because a viewer will follow a clip on hot oil, pressure canning, raw fish or internal temperatures exactly as shown. Be careful clipping harsh words about a named restaurant or a guest's former employer; what is fair comment in a full conversation can sound like an accusation at thirty seconds. Every clip comes with a safety check and its reasons, and nothing goes out until you post it.

Questions

Our episodes are mostly talk with no cooking on camera. Will that clip?

Yes. The technique explained, the ingredient opinion and the kitchen story are all talking clips, and your hands and face carry them. You do not need b roll of the dish.

We cook on camera and the steps take time. Can one recipe become several clips?

That is often the better approach: one clip for the prep decision, one for the moment it goes wrong, one for the finished plate. If a step gets split that you wanted kept whole, ask with "Change this" and it is recut.

Can the thumbnail show the dish instead of my face?

Thumbnails are built from real frames of your episode, so if the finished plate is on camera it can lead the thumbnail with the title doing the work. Separate photos cannot be sent in, so hold the dish to the camera for a clean beat and ask with "Change this" if a face frame was picked instead.
