Soccer podcasts

Three matches a week and a transfer window. Your clips are the thing that keeps slipping.

Soccer fans follow the game across time zones, leagues and languages, and they do most of it in short vertical clips between fixtures. A tactical explanation of why a press failed, a reaction to a transfer that was just confirmed, a supporter honestly describing a relegation night: these travel across club lines in a way a full episode never will. If you are filming your show, that material is already recorded. It only needs to be found and shaped for a phone.

What gets in the way

Send the episode; the clips come back cut, captioned and ranked. That is the whole job on your side.

The moments that travel

The transfer verdictA quick, reasoned read on whether a signing makes sense gets shared by both the buying and selling club's supporters.
The tactical explanationShowing with your hands or a whiteboard why a shape broke down is the clip people save to understand the next match.
The managerial hot seatSaying out loud that a manager has lost the dressing room is the kind of claim fans argue about for weeks.
The away day storyA supporter's first hand account of a famous trip or a terrible night carries an emotion that highlights cannot.
The cross league comparisonRanking a league's best player against one from another competition pulls in audiences who never heard of your show.

What we leave out

Transfer rumors cut to thirty seconds sound like confirmations, so keep the hedge in the clip or wait for the news to be official. Avoid clipping anything that reads as abuse of a referee or a player, and be careful with tribal baiting that lands fine among your own supporters but looks very different when it reaches the other club's fans, which clips do. Every clip comes with a safety check and its reasons, and nothing goes out until you post it.

Questions

We record straight after the match, sometimes from the pub. Is rough footage a problem?

No. Clips are cut from what you have, and a loud, honest post match reaction with good captions often performs better than a tidy studio take recorded the next day.

Our show covers one club and most of our audience is local. Is that too narrow for clips?

Club shows have a built in audience that shares every reference, and clips about a specific signing or a specific manager reach that audience precisely. Narrow is an advantage here.

Can clips go out in time to catch the transfer window chatter?

Yes, as long as the recording is sent promptly. The turnaround is set so a reaction recorded the night a deal is announced is ready while people are still talking about it.
