Law And Lawyers podcasts

Billable hours all day, then an episode nobody clips.

People do not search for a lawyer until something has gone wrong, and by then they go with the name they already recognize. A short clip where you explain one legal idea in plain English is how that recognition gets built, one feed at a time. The full episode proves you know the field. The clip is what gets someone to press play on it.

What gets in the way

Send the episode; the clips come back cut, captioned and ranked. That is the whole job on your side.

The moments that travel

The plain English translationWhen you turn a statute or a doctrine into one sentence a client could repeat, people save it.
What never to sayThe practical warning everyone thinks they might need one day travels further than any analysis.
The myth the shows taughtCorrecting what people learned from courtroom dramas is satisfying to watch and easy to share.
The war story, anonymizedA strange case with every identifying detail scrubbed is the closest thing law has to a campfire tale.
Two lawyers disagreeingA genuine split on strategy shows people how practice actually works, not how a textbook says it does.

Hooks in your show's voice

What we leave out

Anything that identifies a client, even through a combination of small details, stays out, and so does anything that could read as a promise about an outcome. A clip that drops the 'in most states' or the 'it depends' your answer rested on is a clip that misstates the law, so the qualifier travels with the point or the point does not get cut. Every clip comes with a safety check and its reasons, and nothing goes out until you post it.

Questions

Do the clips keep my 'this is not legal advice' language?

Yes. If you say it in the episode it stays attached to the clip, and the captions and titles never present a general point as advice for a specific situation.

What about my state bar's advertising rules?

You know your jurisdiction's rules better than anyone, and nothing is posted until you post it yourself, so review each title, description and post text on your private page before it goes anywhere. If a word like "best" or "expert" slips into a title, ask for it to be changed with "Change this".

My episodes are mostly interviews with other lawyers. Does that work?

It works well. Exchanges where two practitioners disagree, or where a guest walks through a niche area you do not practice, tend to make the strongest clips.
