Cars podcasts

Two hours on a head gasket. Nobody scrolls that far.

Car people argue, and an argument is the fastest thing to spread in short form. The clip of you saying which engine not to buy used will reach people who have never heard your show, and they will come looking for the reasoning. If your episodes are filmed in a shop or next to a car, you already have better visuals than most podcasts in any niche.

What gets in the way

Send the episode; the clips come back cut, captioned and ranked. That is the whole job on your side.

The moments that travel

The brand you won't defendA clear, reasoned call against a popular model gets stopped on and argued about in the comments.
The diagnosis in one breathYou explaining what a noise means, start to finish, is the kind of clip people save for later.
The purchase you regretOwning up to a bad buy is more watchable than a review, because viewers trust the admission.
The guest with grease on himA mechanic or builder answering a plain question off the cuff beats any scripted segment.
The engine on cameraA cold start, a lift reveal or an open hood gives the viewer something to look at while you talk.

What we leave out

Keep licence plates, VIN stickers and your customers' registration paperwork out of frame, and do not clip anything that could read as speeding or racing on a public road, even as a joke. Be careful with a clip that calls a part junk or a shop a rip-off without the reasoning, because the clip travels and the context stays in the episode. Every clip comes with a safety check and its reasons, and nothing goes out until you post it.

Questions

Our episodes are mostly three guys talking in a garage. Is there enough to clip?

Yes. Opinions and diagnoses are the clips in this niche, and the garage itself makes a better backdrop than a desk.

Can plates and identifying details on cars be covered?

Plates and details are not blurred or covered, so tape them or keep them out of frame before you shoot. You see every clip before posting, so anything that shows a plate can be dropped or cut differently with "Change this".

Will captions get model codes and part names right?

We check them against what you actually said, so a clip about an LS swap or a timing chain reads the way a car person would write it.
