News And Commentary podcasts

You record every morning. The clips can't wait until next week.

A commentary show is only useful while the story is still the story, which means the clip has to exist the same day the episode does or it is a rerun. Shorts are also how a smaller show gets found: one clean explanation of a confusing headline is the thing people share when the big outlets have buried the point. You don't need every segment clipped; you need the right one, out, before the next cycle starts.

What gets in the way

Send the episode; the clips come back cut, captioned and ranked. That is the whole job on your side.

The moments that travel

The one-line explainerYou compress a tangled story into a sentence your listener can repeat at work, and that sentence is the short.
The read between the linesPointing out what an official statement carefully avoided saying gives people a frame they'll notice for the rest of the day.
The correctionFixing something you got wrong on air, quickly and without drama, builds the trust a commentary show runs on.
The buried storyA story the big outlets skipped, told in a minute, is why someone follows a smaller show over a bigger one.
The call it nowSaying what you think the next move is, before it happens, gives viewers a reason to check back tomorrow.

What we leave out

Avoid clipping a breaking detail you flagged as unconfirmed, because the short will outlive the correction and the caption won't carry your hedge. Be careful with footage, screenshots or audio from other outlets and with naming victims or minors; a clip travels without the credit or care you gave it on the show. Every clip comes with a safety check and its reasons, and nothing goes out until you post it.

Questions

Can you keep up with a show that records five days a week?

Pro covers 12 episodes a month and episode packs add more, so a daily show needs a pack or two on top. Upload each episode as soon as it is recorded and its clips come back the same day on Pro, so you are never posting last week's news.

My show reads headlines and documents on screen. Do they survive the vertical crop?

Yes. When you're reacting to a headline or a document, the reframe either keeps it readable or shows you and it together, so the viewer sees what you're responding to.

Can you flag which clips are same-day and which can wait?

There is no label, but each clip comes with a plain reason for its ranking that tells you what it covers, so you can sort same-day stories from explainers and background yourself. Pro brings the clips back the same day so the fast ones are ready in time.
